The ELSD Sedex LC allows the analysis of all non-volatile compounds. For the detection chromophores, electroactive
or fluorescent groups are not required. The Low-Temperature Technology allows the measurement at very low evaporative temperatures, which even affords the detection of semi-volatile compounds. Extremely low sample loss through flow rates down to 200 µl/min by using a suitable Flow Splitter.

This ELSD combines high sensitivity, reliability and accuracy. It can be connected to any HPLC system.
One can control the detector manually or via PC, using the most common software drivers.

Function principle

  • Splitting

With the aid of the nebulizer, the mobile phase is transformed into a fine droplet mist. The Sedex LT technology ensures that only the finest droplets enter the evaporation unit. Larger droplets increase the baseline noise considerably.

  • Low evaporation temperature

This discrimination of the larger droplets allows a very low evaporation temperature so that with reduced baseline noise it is possible to detect even semi-volatile substances.

  • GSF™  bundling via inert gas

The mist and the molecules dissolved in it are transported with the aid of GSF (gas supported focusing) to an optical unit for measurement of light-scattering. This bundling of the dissolved particles with the aid of the inert gas allows highly sensitive detection. It also prevents contamination of the optical unit by samples particles.
