Flash chromatography is a cost-effective and convenient fast chemical separation process used in laboratories for the purification and isolation of active ingredients. It is an established method in chemical synthesis, pharmacokinetics or combinatorial chemistry.

By using a Sedex FP, a time- and cost-intensive preparative HPLC separation is unnecessary. This ELSD is easy to use, requires little space and can detect and monitor your fractions collection in two simple steps.

With the innovative SAGA technology (Sedex Automated Gain Adjustement), you can select a dynamic gain setting to avoid an offset saturation of the detector. Detection requires neither chromophores nor electro-active or fluorescent groups.

The detector is equipped with an external splitter. Complete SOP protocols for GLP compliance and validation requirements are available.

  • Splitting

With the aid of the nebulizer, the mobile phase is transformed into a fine droplet mist. The Sedex LT technology ensures that only the finest droplets enter the evaporation unit. Larger droplets increase the baseline noise considerably.

  • Low evaporation temperature

This discrimination of the larger droplets allows a very low evaporation temperature so that with reduced baseline noise it is possible to detect even semi-volatile substances.

  • GSF™  bundling via inert gas

The mist and the molecules dissolved in it are transported with the aid of GSF (gas supported focusing) to an optical unit for measurement of light-scattering. This bundling of the dissolved particles with the aid of the inert gas allows highly sensitive detection. It also prevents contamination of the optical unit by samples particles.
