The innovative SAGA technology (Sedex Automated Gain Adjustment) of the new ELSD Sedex 100, when controlled via a driver, automatically adjusts the sensitivity of the detector during the analysis. This prevents peaks being cut off and the dynamic range of the detector is increased by a factor of 5 to the power of 10. Detection requires neither chromophores nor electro-active or fluorescent groups.

In this new ELSD generation put 25 years of experience and development work. 
The new optical unit based on a new high-power laser, thus the best signal-/noise ratio. New design to minimise peak width and the digital signal processing using innovative algorithms also contribute to the outstanding sensitivity of the ELSD Sedex 100.

The Sedex 100 can be integrated into any HPLC or SFC system. Control is either manual via the detector itself or using most commonly available software drivers. Various nebulisers for flow rates of just a few µl/min to several ml/min can be obtained for optimisation of the application (also for SFC). Comprehensive SOP protocols for GLP conformity as well as validation procedures are available.

  • Splitting

With the aid of the nebulizer, the mobile phase is transformed into a fine droplet mist. The Sedex LT technology ensures that only the finest droplets enter the evaporation unit. Larger droplets increase the baseline noise considerably.

  • Low evaporation temperature

This discrimination of the larger droplets allows a very low evaporation temperature so that with reduced baseline noise it is possible to detect even semi-volatile substances.

  • GSF™  bundling via inert gas

The mist and the molecules dissolved in it are transported with the aid of GSF (gas supported focusing) to an optical unit for measurement of light-scattering. This bundling of the dissolved particles with the aid of the inert gas allows highly sensitive detection. It also prevents contamination of the optical unit by samples particles.
